Liew Chin Tong (DAP), Raja Kamarul Bahrin Shah (AMANAH) dan pemimpin Hindraf P Waythamoorthy antara yang akan mengangkat sumpah sebagai senator di Dewan Negara pagi esok.
Menurut jemputan parlimen yang dilihat Malaysiakini, mereka dipilih oleh kerajaan persekutuan dan akan dilantik oleh Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
Tiga lagi yang bakal menjadi senator melalui kuota kerajaan persekutuan adalah Datuk Ismail Bahrin, Mohd Radzi Md Jidin dan marzuki Yahya.
Sebelum ini Perdana Menteri Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad berkata baki kekosongan dalan kerajaan akan diisi oleh senator.
Menteri dan timbalan menteri baru akan mengangkat sumpah di Istana Negara petang esok.
Kemungkinan besar mereka di kalangan enam bakal senator itu. Pada masa ini, terdapat 27 menteri dan 23 timbalan menteri.
Antara jawatan yang belum diisi adalah menteri di jabatan perdana menteri bertanggungjawab untuk perpaduan nasional serta timbalan menteri bagi kementerian pertahanan, hal ehwal ekonomi dan perumahan dan kerajaan tempatan.
Baki dua lagi calon senator pula dicalonkan menerusi kuota kerajaan negeri.
Mereka adalah Datuk Hussain Awang yang dipilih DUN Terengganu dan Asmak Husin yang dipilih DUN Kelantan.
